This Norwegian handwork technique is becoming more and more popular in the Netherlands. At Tammy's Treasures you can take two Hardanger courses, both divided into 3 lessons. In between the lessons you will have homework.
During the first lesson you will learn the basic stitches. With these stitches you will make 4 different designs for homework.
During the second lesson we will discuss the problems encountered from the first lesson. You will learn a few intricate stitches and the cutting of threads. You will use these techniques on your homework as in the first lesson.
During the third lesson we will again discuss the homework and you will learn the buttonhole stitch. We will also discuss how to wash and iron your Hardanger project.
Hardanger II
This course carries on where Hardanger 1 left off. During the 3 lessons you will learn the straight stitch, the four-sided stitch, the Greek cross, picots and a loop stitch. Instead of making a tryout piece you will end up with a bookmark and a pin cushion. You will make the projects on colored linen with white thread.
